There are a lot of success stories today that we can read on blog posts, newspapers or magazines. Our question right away is, “How did they do it?” Motivation they say comes from within us and not from other people. On one hand, there are some things that one can do to help another person to be motivated on something.
In motivating oneself and wanting to do something are rather two different things. We often set goals for ourselves and this mostly happens every start of the year. There are some who are able to do theirs while others fail constantly. So what sets them apart is self-motivation. What are the key factors that will highly motivate a person to aim for success? Let us take a look at some of the things that motivates people.
This always comes first in line; positive thinking influences the outcome of the things to come. By envisioning oneself to be that successful person creates a mind-set that tells us we will be this person in the near future. One is highly confident that things will be better even though there are instances that don’t go well as you have planned. Create thoughts in your mind and make them favorable to your situation. Remember that positive thinking attracts positive results coupled with hard work.
Secondly, concentration and having strong goals that will give a person a clear sense of direction. In setting goals for yourself you should consider a couple of things; to begin with, it should be specific and not too difficult that you will eventually lose interest in achieving them. Know your behavioral pattern and coping style to adapt to this. Prioritize them and start with the ones that are easily accomplished to motivate you to go the extra mile.
Thirdly, your support system also plays an important role to this. They are your external factors that will remind you of your goals and will motivate you from the outside. Try not working alone but instead work with a team that helps you become responsible not just for yourself but for others as well.
Lastly, have the self-assurance that all your goals you’ll be able to carry out. Be confident that you will do what you want and knowing you have worked a lot in accomplishing them. This will even motivate you take on more challenging goals in the future.
On the whole, the key factors in motivating ourselves always boils down to “us”. Our very self is the determinant factor whether we will succeed or not.
